Member Bikes

These are Vincents owned by members of the Lone Star Section. Most members have at least one Vincent, and many are being restored. We will be adding to this page as more members submit material on their machines.

Brian with his recently acquired 1953 Rapide, an interesting blend of Series B and C. He plans to get the bike running and proceed with a "rolling restoration". Brian's Rapide; note the original Touring mudguards.
Bev's Rapide pre-restoration, with its original Chinese Red paint. It was originally sent to the Indian Sales Company in Springfield Massachusetts in July, 1950. The works built it as a touring model, but a previous owner installed the standard alloy fenders and 20" front wheel.

Richard's 1952 Series C Rapide. Richard's bike, showing some lovely polished alloy on the engine. It was purchased as a basket case in 1998, and has Black Lightning cams and clutch.
Jim's Rapide was shipped to Indian Sales Corp., Portland Oregon in 1953, and he's owned it since 1958. Jim has Lightningized the engine with Vibrac rods, polished flywheels, Lightning cams, ported heads with 1 3/16 Monobloc carbs, 9:1 forged pistons and a competition magneto.
John's 1951 Series C Rapide, which has taken first place honors at the BMOA New Ulm Rally and the Roadrunners Rally at Austin.
Paul's restored Touring Rapide in Chinese Red; most bikes of this color were sold in the United States.
Butch's 1953 Rapide has a 2" open Black Lightning exhaust, with graceful lines and a hushed exhaust note...
